Training Blues

It has been a while since I last posted so let me fill you in. I was contracted to help install a complete system of operations for a few large gyms in Vancouver B.C.

I had to implement and train the staff on everything from training protocols and payroll procedures to hiring practices and how to close a sale.

This is my area of expertise and I was excited to get a chance to do it and will be doing a lot more of that this coming year.

Through the week up to this trip I was working very hard and staying up very late night after night getting everything ready. For a lot of other busy professionals out there I know you can relate.

Here is what I learned.

Even though it didn’t really seem like work because I enjoyed it I was stressing myself out needlessly. I WAY over delivered and half the stuff I did they skimmed right over. When preparing projects don’t kill yourself and put your health at risk, it’s not worth it.

Now I am really sick, can’t work out for almost a week now (which has never happened) and I feel like a slug. I don’t care what anyone says, I am definitely working out today no matter what. Even if I pass out!

That is not my advice to you but what can I say.

Next Blog post I’ll talk about the influx of personal training professional in your town and what to be aware of!
