Give up your need to always be right
In the ‘ always being right’ dynamic, interaction is reduced to a win/ lose climate.
“Being Kind” might stop the argument but does not resolve the crux of the issue.
In the win/ lose dynamic someone is always the loser and that in turn can
give way to competition, and or conflict.
This win/ lose stance creates a polarity. It is based on an either/ or
mentality that ignores the fact that not every perspective or every issue needs debate.
The challenge for this situation calls us to transcend the personal and focus on the commonalities… it is a shift from ‘either/ or’.. to…a ‘ both/ and’ perspective. It demands that there is movement from me to we, from mine to us, yours to ours.
In a goal setting situation recognizing that you live in a communal arrangement is imperative to ones ultimate success. A support group participating with you and your goals is a non negotiable. How rich then is the victory of achievement!
