Know What You Really Want

It has been a while since my last post and I have no excuse.
None that I would accept from anyone else so I won't try and talk my way out of it.
Truth is I have been busy but who isn't and I will find the time to post more regularly as I feel I have so much to share.

Just got back from Sedona to write a few business plans and see the Grand Canyon.
Both objectives were completed and I loved it so much I am going back on Aug 28.

If you have never been to see it I recommend taking a trip if you can.

I'll get a picture up here in a minute but it is kind of a waste of time as it does not do it justice.

During my time there, walking and thinking and getting ready to put my plans down I came to the realization that I am not much of a "toy" guy.

Think about yourself and your own childhood even. Did you always have to have the newest best toy or where you more interested in "doing" things?

Society in general whether it is T.V., movies or magazines will make you think you want certain things but I bet you don;t really want the things you say you do.

I for one want experiences in my life. More time to do these experiences with whom I choose. Basically at the end of the day all we really have are the relationships we create and the memories or stories we can share.

More experiences is my goal, maybe yours?

That is not to say that we don;t want certain toys but just make sure that you really do want them and are not just brain washed into thinking that you do.

How does this relate to fitness? Well, how about this... I was tight for time if I wanted to make my helicopter ride over the Canyon and still take a hike down into the canyon. The guide said that the first check point was a round trip of 3 hours and I only had 3 at the most.

I am one for adventure and the thought of having to push it down and back with a real goal excited me so I decided to give it a shot. Made it down and back in about one hour and 15 minutes although I will admit I was gassed and my ass hurt for 3 days high up to my back.

If I wasn't in good shape I would have missed out on that experience and that is something I just can't imagine. Not being able to do what I want when I want because of a lack of self imposed fitness would be hell to me.

If you EVER find yourself just once missing out on something because of fitness when all it would have taken was some effort to get it then get your ass moving.

You only live once and you're gong to be missing out on a lifetime of cool things.
